Workstation 1: 64 GB Ram, i7 5960x, 8x3.0 GHz, 16 threads, GTX Titan, GTX 980
Workstation 2: 24 GB Ram, i7 980x, 6x3,3 GHz, 12 threads, GTX 570
Laptop: 12 GB Ram, i7 3632QM, 4x2.2 GHz, 8 threads, GTX 640M LE

Welcome to the forum and congrats to the license. Looks like you've put it right to work. I second Ono's comment. Beautiful!

Cheers girls and guys.

I just rendered myselv a cold drink.
Took a while to get the settings right :-) Around 1 day of trial and error to be exact.

Ice and orange juice both have SSS.
Glass VS Juice VS Ice is handled with the Precedence setting (So for example no juice is rendered inside the ice cubes that occupy the juice)

Some color correction was done in After Effects.

Cheers,
Raphael

Very nice, love the caustics, though I feel that the ice cubes could be a weeeee bit more transparent.

Digging the painted wood look too, by the way.

Nice stuff Silverwing.
One tip - for the fastest SSS rendering, you want to use a uniform scattering coefficient spectrum.

I agree with Oscar about the ice. Maybe it needs some bubbles and fissures in it?

@ Oscar J:
Thanks a lot. And yes you are right about the ice. Seems like I got carried away with the cool SSS effect I was achieving ha ha.

@ OnoSendai:
Also thank you!

Thanks for the tip. I have used Uniform scattering for the ice. I had just the feeling that it was faster ;-)
For the orange Juice I of course used RGB colors to achieve that orange look.

Thanks guys for the feedback!

EDIT:
I rendered a new scene with less SSS in the Ice. I hope you enjoy :-)

Cheers,
Raphael

Hi Silverwing, regarding the SSS settings -
you can still get an orange colour by setting the absorption spectrum appropriately, while keeping the scattering spectrum uniform.

That looks much better!

There's some jpeg compression hurting my eyes though. Do you save your renders as jpegs from Indigo? Be aware - Indigo's saves kinda low quality jpegs.
