Non-Photorealistic Renders (dun dun dun....)

Post by bubs » Wed Jul 29, 2015 10:26 pm

:? At the risk of being permanently thrown off this forum, I thought I'd share some non-photorealistic renders. I feel justified in that every one of these started as a fully, accurately modelled and Indigo rendered image. Sometimes in Architecture tho, a final 'polished' image is not appropriate, and so quite often I 'tinker' with the Indigo output in Photoshop to achieve a different look. I still couldn't produce any of these without Indigo in the first instance!

Be gentle...

to my feeling even a non-photorealistic approach could show a little more detail, it feel's like some of your filters overdo that sketch-look you're trying to create.
fe the brick wall in the first image, distortion of the single bricks is a little rough

anyway i really appreciate the courage to show sth different in this forum ;)
best regards

Thanks for the comments!

The point of doing these type of images for me is normally that they are at the start of a project when I really haven't worked out any detail... so to show a render of a crappy model with no detail, just looks like a crappy render! By doing this I take them much more into the realm of the traditional hand sketch for earl discussion, also it avoids the "but I thought I was getting..." conversation with the Client!

You shame me sir! I'm embarrassed to be mentioned in the same breath as the 'King of Indigo'

I also think that the NPR look indeed solves some issues in the early stages of the project.
I especially like the second shot, and LOVE the third one!
