I like the lighting, although I find the general composition a little too..empty..
Wonderful lights and really interesting material on the vase on the left, how's that made?

totally agree, but I just work here!

It's a blend between a shiny metal and a dull. The blend map is soft (no sharp transitions between black & white) and the shiny metal has a much sharper fresnel map applied.

Not a good example I'm afraid... I left this for a whole weekend because I was away... It rendered for far longer than it needed to... I could probably get this overnight on a poor i5 with 8gb Ram.
This is Bertrand Benoit's patch (which has probably been used a million times!)

I made a dummy component in SketchUp and used the 'Make Crowd' pugin to scatter it.

Welcome yeganegi and Thanks!
All the foliage is 3D only colour correction etc in Photoshop. Most of it is from one of these sites;
http://www.archive3d.net - all free
http://www.xfrog.com - lots of free stuff on their samples page
http://www.3dwarehouse.sketchup.com - you have to really hunt to find anything of much quality, but there is some useable stuff there if you look!
