I'd agree a 'proper' tutorial would be good, it's always been a complete trial and error thing with me, maybe 10 or 15 tests until I think it looks OK!

Yes of course! It was mainly exposure and colour correction. You will notice I did a new region render on the gravel path, as it looked crap in the first render!

I recognise that great sideboard btw.

I will have to admit not being a huuuuuge fan of the bloom thing you're doing in post. A little might be good, but it's a tad strong. Completely a matter of taste of course.

You are almost certainly correct on this when I look at it again... it was a late night effort! I think I might give myself a new rule of not posting any 'finished' images until at least 24hrs after the fact and several more looks!
