How to use Indigo materials(IGM & PIGM format) in Revit?

Post by sujeet » Sat May 12, 2012 7:27 pm

Dear Everyone

For a project modelled in Revit, we have downloaded materials available at the link " http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/ ". They are in IGM & PIGM formats.
The problem is in putting these Indigo materials to the elemants in Revit. (using Indigo Renderer-3.2.13-trial version with Revit-2012 at Windows 7, 64 bit)
( the Add-Ins tab appears in Revit, but seems unable to get connected with these formats)

Image Map in the Indigo Material Editor window is not accepting these IGM &PIGM formats.
Though any Jpeg selected as a material is getting mapped correctly.
Even after spending N-number of hours for resolving it, couldn't get through the solution.

Just to cross-check, Is it the correct link for downloading materials for Revit?

Since I am new to Revit, please explain the stepwise process of putting material(s) to the elemants in Revit.
Also, If these are External materials, kindly tell the steps for using them.

Many thanks,
Sujeet

I don't use Revit , but the materials from the online material database are External materials. Many of these will require you to UV map your geometry.

Hi sujeet,

To use a IGM/PIGM, select "External Material" in the material type in the Indigo Material Editor window.

This type has a single path field, in which you should select the IGM/PIGM file.

There is also a online material browser in Indigo for Revit, but it is broken in the current version.

We are working on Indigo for Revit at the moment and (among many other great improvements) have fixed the material browser.

We are going to release the improved version soon.

Regards,
Yves
