Linux indigo_console license error

Post by eyeball3000 » Wed Mar 14, 2018 11:56 am

Hi

I have setup a Linux machine (Ubuntu Server 16.04.4) to be used as a network slave and installed Indigo 4.0.66 according to the instructions. Everything is fine so far. I can open indigo, set the license (node license) that gets accepted etc.

However, if I start the indigo_console -n s I get the following error:

Code: Select all

License Error: Could not open '/home/serveradmin/IndigoRenderer/IndigoRenderer4/licence.sig' for reading: Failed to open file '/home/serveradmin/IndigoRenderer/IndigoRenderer4/licence.sig'Indigo Renderer v4.0.66, Linux 64-bit build.
The the path to the file is correct. If I start the network slave via indigo GUI I also get the error message, however the slave continues working and uploads frames.

This is a bit mysterious to me. I'm using SSH and X11 to log into the server, but this should not make a difference.
Any Idea where this might be coming from?

Cheers
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,

I can't seem to reproduce this in Arch Linux. I could try it in an Ubuntu Server VM.

When you say you are using SSH and X11 do you mean X11 forwarding with ssh -X ?
Did you try running indigo_console locally?
It could be a permissions error. Do you run Indigo with the user account it belongs to, i.e. serveradmin?

Nick is fixing an issue with error reporting of file opening on Linux right now, we will send you a new build to try soon.

Please try this build: https://downloads.indigorenderer.com/di ... .15.tar.gz

It has better error reporting for opening files on linux.

As I mentioned, I'm also getting the same message in the indigo GUI when I start the network slave, however its continues to work.

Also note, that I'm getting an error message when opening Indigo GUI

However, the indigo works and it even remembers the network settings (e.g. network manager IP).

I have tried opening the indigo_console as root with sudo - didn't help.
Is there some kind of log file I can provide?
