An error occurred while loading this IGM file

Post by Bosseye » Thu Feb 02, 2017 5:09 am

All of a sudden I'm getting continual errors trying to import files downloaded from the Indigo material database.

I download the material, try to import it via the material editor in Sketchup and I keep getting the message "An error occurred while loading this IGM file".

I've always had the odd material that doesn't work, but suddenly its nearly all of them. What is the error? Is it anything I can fix?

Thanks

Probably materials with roughness parameter (V4 materials). Should work when Skindigo is updated to use the new parameter.

I think it's related to moving the site to HTTPS. Hang on, we're fixing it now.

Thanks for the replies. I've just downloaded the files from the site again and same issue. To confirm, the error only comes when trying to import the material through the SKIndigo material editor in Sketchup.

I'm curious to know what the mystery 'error' is, the dialogue isn't telling me, heh.

Anyone? I'm basically finding maybe 50% of the materials simply don't load.

Again, are you trying to import a v4 material into a Skindigo 3.8 version?

Sorry, missed this one - I'm not sure. I'm using v3.8.26, my other PC is using the latest 3.8 version, but is there some dialogue in the materials page which tells me whether or not a texture is version 4 or not? I may have missed it.

For example, I tired using your Natural Oak Flooring texture from the library, same error pops up.

Just use the new Skindigo version and all should hopefully be fine :)

I'm still getting this issue. Are these textures v4 only?

I'm running Indigo v3.8.37 with SKIndigo v3.8.35 which are the latest downloads from the website for v3 I believe.

Yeah, about 50-100 or so of the materials are Indigo 4 only, I think. :/

Shame.

Its not me missing something is it, I can't see a way to tell which are v4 and which are v3?

They ought to be separated out really to save people (like me!) from thinking Indigo is broken.

Hi Bosseye, the latest SkIndigo can read these materials now. However it does target Indigo 4.

Hi Ono - thanks for the response. By 'read' does that mean I can do anything with them in v3, or am I only able to render with Indigo 4?

We added the required indigo version to the online matdb: https://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vi ... 20&t=14363

The latest SkIndigo is just for Indigo v4. If you're still using Indigo v3 you still won't be able to use those materials.
