Hello there,
I do not know why but this tiny test to obtain something like the example in pictures below take an infinite time to render, and seems to saturate the proc after 10 spp.
I abandoned my idea to use a true glossy transparent or specular material because of that.
but a blend material with a simple phong and a null give something very hard to render too.
Could you please test the PIGS file and say if you have errors or an abnormally long render?
Thank you a lot!

Re: [Polycarbonate roofing panels] hard to render
is this ok?
ran for a minute, haven't gone any deeperRe: [Polycarbonate roofing panels] hard to render
I've had to use a material like this before. I just used a Glossy Transparent with absorption & bump maps... Bit of a cheat I know, but for my purposes I think it looked fine...
You're more than welcome to the material if it's of any use to you.

I'll try to upload that material to the database now.

Done. Enjoy!
Re: [Polycarbonate roofing panels] hard to render
Best way to simulate this material would obviously be to model the geometry of the polycarbonate.
Since it's made up basically of rectangular cells, it wouldn't be that hard to reproduce, after all.
Bubs material seem to be accurate enough for a not too detailed image, btw.

@bubs: you have PM!
