Is my GPU supported? Guys, please check this...

Post by bestfeed » Sat Jan 21, 2012 1:38 am

Sorry for interrupting you guys. I'm still new in here. I would like to ask your opinion about my GPU card..
I've searched around the internet and wondering if Indigo Renderer only support some kinds of graphics card.
What is that mean anyway?

*kindly correct me if I wrong*

By the way, my specs is like below :
*Laptop Brand - Asus K43SJ
*Operating System - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
*Memory - 6 GB DDR3
*Graphic Card - NVIDIA Geforce GT520M (1 GB Dedicated Memory)
*Processor - Intel Pentium B940 (2.0 Ghz)

My NVIDIA driver is 290.36. That's the most updated right now. The version 285.26 is not compatible with my laptop.

So... :? Its my GPU is supported by Indigo Renderer? Just confused about it...

Many thanks for your reply..

Hi bestfeed,

afaik your card should be supported, why not give the demo a spin, so you would see if it works and how much the boost is you get!
Requirements for GPU rendering are OpenCl 1.1 or CUDA 4 (CUDA is faster for NVIDIA cards!), both are suported by your card.

Latest NVIDIA Drivers are 290.53 actually ;)

Indigo is a standalone program.
Run indigo and render some test scenes.
You need an exporter to render a scene from popular 3d soft
For you it'll be: http://www.indigorenderer.com/documentation/maya

You will get the latest Maya to Indigo exporter version from my signature or from the page bahamut linked.

There is currently no tutorial worth mentioning, you will find pointers in the Maya subforum. I'll see forward to make a basic video presentation this month.
