Simple house. Please help!

Post by Mus Lee » Fri Jun 18, 2010 5:09 am

Hi there, these are renders for my school project but I have problem with interior lights. This is 6h render with over 5700 spp on Intel i7. As you can see the daylight version is very nice and clean but when I change light layers to make night version the inside lights are still noisy!

I'm in a hurry and have to make this project quick, is there any way to speed up those lights?

I use maxigo diffuse material with emission enable becouse I don't want black dots when turn lights off, maybe this is the problem?

Hi Mus.
The main problem here probably lies in the power of your emitting material. At the moment, Indigo distributes your cpu's calculation power proportionally to the power of the light sources. So if you have sun/sky and emitters, only 1% of your cpu power will actually calculate the emitter's layer, while 99% the sun/sky layer, being much brighter.

To solve the problem, give your emitters an extremely high efficacy and then dim them while the render is running via the GUI sliders..

... and one tip more to find it's way into the famous but unexisting Essential Indigo Render Tips thread.
Cheers, David

thank U for reply, I'm actually using bi-dir mlt and emitter materials are in pretty high settings (multiply 10) the only way is to change luminance (now is 5000), or maybe I change to indigo emitter material, I don't know... :(
