Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
Re: Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
I guess he modeled them. He's a very good vegetation-ist!
Re: Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
sorry, but since you use the skp I wonder if you use the hdr map, how can you change the sky light so smooth?
Re: Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
Thanks dakiru. For those two images, I used the F250CD camera response function.dakiru wrote:That's very impressive, Jeff! environment 2c and environment 1c almost look like a good photo.
Thanks Pibuz!Pibuz wrote:Ok jeff. Let's put it on these terms: I'LL BUY YOU THOSE TREES!
Thanks Tom. I already lowered the exponent value on that grass to 50 but it was still shiny. It must be lowered even further.StompinTom wrote:Some things look a bit too shiny to me, but damn, that environment is looking good! Very natural-looking!
The trees were modeled inside sketchup. I would love have those Evermotion trees on the scenes but they are not compatible with sketchup.zeitmeister wrote:Word!Pibuz wrote:Ok jeff. Let's put it on these terms: I'LL BUY YOU THOSE TREES!
Jeff, where did you get them from? Evermotion, XFrog, Dosch?
Re: Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
I use the sketchup sun and sky for most of the renderings on this thread. The color of the sky can be changed under the light layers. To assign layers to the sun & sky, open render settings and choose the environment. Assign layers as shown. (see attachments) During rendering change the values on the sun or sky layer to get desired results.PowerMax wrote:sorry, but since you use the skp I wonder if you use the hdr map, how can you change the sky light so smooth?
Cheers!

Try exponent 20 with IOR or 1.6 or a bit lower. It's been working for me but see how it looks...Jeff wrote:Thanks Tom. I already lowered the exponent value on that grass to 50 but it was still shiny. On page 3 of this thread, I uploaded the sketchup file of the environment I am using for the scenes rendered here. It has grasses and trees. You can download it.PowerMax wrote:Thank you very~~~~much to tell me how to set the enviriment. person like you to willing to share is rare these day.

Thanks Tom, I'll try those values for the exponent & IOR.StompinTom wrote:Try exponent 20 with IOR or 1.6 or a bit lower. It's been working for me but see how it looks...
Re: Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
Some updates. Nothing special. Just fixed the grass. It is no longer shiny.
Re: Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
Sorry Jeff to bother you.
Do you still achieve half-diffuse grass setting its SU opacity to values different from 100? Because it seems that here the feature is broken or something.
I'll post some tests but if I set a normal plastic and then I select an opacity value different from 100%, the material is rendered just the same.

Re: Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
Just re-rendered some old scenes again. The only major change here was the elevation of the house. It is much lower now. The first step on the stair is now at the right height from the ground.
Re: Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
..strange...
I find the auto-blend when SU opacity is different from 100 working oddly in v.2.2.12. All right in 2.2.9.
I did some tests, I'll post them here in a few days..

Re: Architectural Visualization Study - The Farnsworth House
I finally had time to restart this WIP. On this update, some of the vegetation had been replaced.
