Do you want your eye medium or crisp?

Rendered for half an hour. I'll let it render until it's either clear or I find something to change (which I most certainly will). Still undecided if I want the fork to be lying on the table or the "someone behind the camera holds it up" way I have it now. Table decorations, texture and mybe a background are still to be done of course.
Comments and critiques appreciated. :)

Really awsome! :D
Love the blood and eye material! 8)
You could make a box with eyes behind there, a Corn Flakes like box :)

Looking forward to more updates!

I think it would be even creepier if the fork hadn't actually pierced the eye yet, just squashing the eye right before it breaks the surface. Also maybe have the iris rotated a little more towards the camera. Lastly maybe have the reflection from the eye show a scene of something, like a person or something. I suppose for the scene reflection it would be better having the eye closer to the camera so it was bigger.

I like this style of 3D art :)

Small update. :)

I tried a couple of things after you posted, and the most creepy thing still seems to be the pierced-directly-into-the-pupil variant. ;) I played with my male model from another project but it didn't really show in the reflections, I'll have to wiggle with it a little more.

Color correction and 1.5k mpp. Still a little undecided on what to do for background extras. You guys think it'll be to bleak if I let it blank?

My Ideas are:

I don't think you should pump more "extras" in your Scene,
this only would take the Focus from the "eye forking action"

put the Camera just a little higher, viewing down on the scene,
so you don't have such a blank Background.

Try to illuminate the Scene by the Kitchen HDRI,
and perhaps try some kind of table cloth like this,
with some good bump this could look very cool...
(white, or little yellowish table cloth, not 100%perfect Flat, with this Bumb could be nice too!

Also try to raise your DOF setting to Focus more on the action...

Perhaps the glasses could be removed to...

I think it's basically finished, i think it doesn't need more objects etc..
Perhaps some scratch bump on the fork tho?

Could you put a warning in the subject line next time you post something like that? I was just having my dinner when I opened this up  :x

(Seriously, awesome concept, great render :) )

Ian.

Are you the one we have to thank for creating a renderer so realistic that the images can make us lose our appetites? If so thanks a lot.

Ok end sarcasm, seriously thanks :)
