since this is the forum thread, I decided to model my room

I encountered a little problem:

I've just modeled the room shape and the windows

this is a render with the windows without the glass

same scene, but with glass

why the light isn't sharp anymore? is it normal?

another strange problem is that the scene with the glass makes indigo (wine actually) crash... 2 crashes on 2 tries so far...

Hi, Lego.

I tried modelling a room in blender with a window and, after a lot of trial and error, I manage to create a room with a window with glass (IOR @ 1.52) which render properly!

Which modelling software are you using? If it's blender, i can get the blend file to you. My window panes are flattened cubes inserted into the window frame.

I'm using blender, and my glasses are made from flattened cubes too :/
I'd like to take a look at your blend scene :)

For now I "solved" removing the glasses... this way the render is faster too :P

OK. You can get the blend here: http://www.bloopdiary.plus.com/dave/room01.blend

thanks :)

since your scene worked correctly , I decided to recheck my glasses another time, and I found some very very small edges lying around -_-
now it seems to be ok :)

It's looking good so far. Is this a representation of an actual room?
