Pastry recipe

I'm moving this thread here since I'm now thinking of doing a complete pastry scene. Thanks for the helpful comments in the Simple Rendering thread. I've incorporated those in the lemon pie recipe: There's now a flat, undisplaced and more reflective edge to the crust. Crust and custard have more SSS and there's a slight bump map on the custard.
The lemon is a recent addition: Three different objects: skin, flesh and pulp, all with blend mats. The pulp is a blend of specular (glossy trans) and phong.
Still working on a better strawberry tart and thinking of something chocolatey to round the offering. Will have to do a box as well...
Any help appreciated.

Just glossy transparent. But there's a texture too in the phong layer.
All other mats have SSS to a degree.

Particularly the lemon.

You could probably show this image to a "normal" person and ask... well, how do you ask if something looks real without hinting that it could be artificial?

Wow looking damn tasty. Agree with less bump on custard. Lime wedge looks great - tectured from real photos? now to make it look like one of those high-end food shots give it loads of bright OOF background

i think the strawberrys and ice cream scene are the most identical for a challenge or a competition....
i believe very few can reach something similar result, one is me who is the other

Thanks. Yes, that's the kind of setup I had in mind. Been looking through recipe books for inspiration. I like that style.
