Home Theatre-ish Room

Post by BZ Win » Sun Oct 08, 2006 12:03 pm

Well, hmm, Ive been working on this for the past week or so, I have about 10 hours into it so far.

Here are a few test renders, they are grainy because they where only rendering for about an hour. (test renders)

I still have to finish refining materials, and making a few more models and textures. (defiently need to make more things for the shelves.)

Rendered in Indigo 0.5
Modeling done in Blender 2.42
Texture work done in Photoshop

As this is my first big Indigo project, C&C is welcome :)

EDIT: I can't seem tot get the 0.6 export script for blender working...do I have to run it manually? For 0.5 I could just place it in blender's script folder...

And: When I have my camera up close to one of the windows, the scene is lit very brightly, but when I move my camera away from the window, the previously light area seems to get darker, any ideas? [SOLVED] (mesh emitters.)

Yeah, those things were coming, everntually ;)

I let this render overnight (so ~10 hours), don't ask about the green thing, its a chalk board with the wrong material assigned.

Hehe
I think you have to add more "life" into your picture. Like a TV-magazin or something. At the moment the scene is too clean, but it is wip so you can work on it :)

Ask and ye shall recieve :D

I rendered this for about 45 minutes, Ive upgraded to 0.6 test1
(hard to see in this shot, but the front magazine page does curl :p)

And yes, as it is a WIP, I still have alot of modelling to do.

Is "max_num_consec_rejections" set to "100" or to "1000"?
Set this to "100" (in the infile) will make the fireflies go away

EDIT:

Well, here is the camera position for the final render, this was done in 0.6test4. (quick 20min test render)

Do you think maybe I should add some childs toys to the middle of the floor?
Maybe some letter blocks, trucks, etc?

heh im a little late but id say avoid it, the room has a sophisticated look and feel to it, the toys would distrackt from it i think.
