Yes, I often find the problem with exporting large scenes has a lot more to do with the size of individual meshes than with the total number of polys.
(You probably know that already, but the way to do this in Blender, as I learnt recently, is to go into edit mode, select some polys, end press "P" to make them into a different object)

My computer just can't keep up with the amount of verts I have. I'm over 1 million for the first time in a more serious work and I'm not to sureprised my comp can't handle it. My comps not to bad, but not very good either and I'm not going to upgrade, because I'd rather save the money for a new pc.

So I'm going to come up with a new idea where I can keep the verts down (no plants :D ). Maybe a tunnel or something, but I'll try to keep it interesting still. I was hoping I could finish out my original idea, I thought it would look good, it did in my head anyways.

Here's what I have so far...

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p50/ ... 116532.png
Still lots of work to do. It just doesn't look right to me. I have to many lightpoles and I need to fix the normals (I forgot to check them before duplicating and then checked before exporting to find they were all backwards so I only took the time to fix 2 of them). I also am deciding if I should keep it to all indoors or have it where the car is leaving the tunnel to outdoors. (the car will be on the right) Any ideas anyone?

I went back to my original idea and started seperating ivy and it's going surprisingly well. I save every few seperations so I don't lose to much work (it froze twice) and I've done 2 sets of ivy. I'm glad it's working because I would much rather use this idea than the tunnel.

I finnished seperating the ivy, it took while though and froze once more but not to bad. Now I can export the ivy, but indigo will crash in both console and gui mode. I get a runtime error like "runtime has requested to exit in an unusual way" or something like it. Any idea's? I'm using .9 indigo and blendigo so I'll try updating and see if it works better.

[edit] I updated my blendigo and indigo and I still get "this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. contact the applications support team." It does this while loading the igs.

lol, I was able to get some of my ivy to export, but not all of it at once. I can't get all 3 sets to go, I didn't try the right corner by itself, the middle won't go by itself, and I got the left to work by itself. Now to try some sets of two.

I changed the roof a little and I didn't set the "young leaf" textures yet so they are just grey planes.

I just tried 1.05b and got the same error I was getting before. Could it be my computer specs? I have a 2.2Ghz P4 and 512Mb of ram.
