Back to boring interiors...
Hi guys. Back to my usual lifeless stuff. This is a wip of a room I'm working on. I've mainly worked on making the room as realistic as I could, slightly warping the window frame and working on the floor texture mostly. The furniture and models are just imports from older scenes and, right now, merely space fillers. The final render will probably include different furniture. The space outside the windows is also still pretty rough around the edges.
The idea there was to see whether I could get convincing cobblestones without displacement (there is a very strong bump instead) if you don't look too closely. The glass in the window did slow the render down substantially, but it wasn't as bad as I feared.
Anyway, comments are as always much appreciated.

Thanks Ono. Yeah, finding the right scale is a pain in the ass (the window should be about 2.5m). Especially since I'm working without reference on this scene.
These seats will go though (perhaps they'll go outside). Though I think I'll keep the books (all of them MoI models). I'll also upload the floor texture once I'm happy with it.

Thanks guys. Yes, plants would be a challenge. They're either unrealistic or they boost the polycount like mad. I've thought about having a lonely tree
in the middle. I'll see what I can come up with.
Hey WytRaven. I tried to use your hand-stitching method for the frame. Pushing and dragging polys. I did subsurf it once, though. Couldn't help it...

Great show off BbB!
I do like the rendering a lot. I really love ...:
-- the pillows, they look really good this time
-- the floor, is darn good looking, maybe it doesn't fit to the "building" but I dont't care!
-- the books, top notch, dunno what to say! ;o)
-- the frame of the door, is good ... but I miss a handle for the door itself,
to make it more believable. First I didn't spot the glass door! ;o)
... some critic too:
-- the "LaPalma ZA-Angle", seem to be to small and to reflective
(I could provide a model if you want it, of the ZA-2 too)
-- the lamps are, to homogeneous - and could need some "dirt" on top. ;o)
-- the door seems to be "to big", at least if I take a look at the outlet
-- the glass in the door is somehow strange, it's almost not there, maybe
more absorbtion. But dunno ... hmm, first I thought there is no glass,
then I've seen this tiny reflection ... hehe
So, mate this is good work you did there again and I know you can push
it to the edge! Top notch texture work again, for sure!
nb: Just let me know about the model for the ZA ... ;o))
take care
