Haven't been on the forums in a while, or tinkering with 3D at all for that matter, so I'm more than a bit out of practice but I tried to get a caustic effect again; something I never quite managed to accomplish even after I've had people explain it.... I didn't get the flashy rainbow effect but I did get some nice shafts of light still!

I still remember that neat projector-effect that someone posted a long time back in this thread too... Never ever was able to recreate that :(

Just now finished this model and render. It's not anything spectacular, and I'm sure that it could have been modeled in a more efficient way, but I'm still pleased with it overall :) I don't have much experience in modeling so being able to finish something and have it look somewhat presentable was nice.

a little scene with free models from renderpeople, I tried boolean spline in c4d, volumetric light is a fake, that's a cone with a transparency gradient.
Bon dimanche.

not bad, nice material, but I think there are too many clusters on the foot. and a little too purple.
Do you accept to share the model in C4D format by example or other (not pigs) ? :) thank's

Render took 2-3h, but not enought to get cleared.
bidr with MLT, EXR map, IES lights, bricks without bump.

Any sugestions how to improve quality and speed of rendering?

Yeah:

Don't use MLT for simple lighting situations like this, and, if you can, use OpenCL rendering with a modern graphics card.

Even on interior scenes as this?

Yeah, with a window that big, single dir PT should do fine. :)
