really good looking meadow, but the grasstraws still look spiky and straight, maybe you could bend them just a little. and also the white of the daisies could be a little brighter.

..or rendered from sketchup (geometry made in third party softwares)? :wink:

Delight us with a wireframe please!!!!
Yes indeed all Skethup... I don't have the first clue how to use any other modeling software. I made a 2m x 2m grass patch and then made myself an .obj to use as external reference, just randomly rotating the 2m squares. I made the hede in a similar fahion, I think it's a sample about 4m long by 1.5m high. Slight edit tho :oops: the daisy and dandelion are altered models from 3d warehouse.

It's probably the low res (I hope) but there isn't actually a straight blade of grass in the whole scene! they're all bent, some quite a lot. I've shown a closer pic... The daisy petals were diffuse transmitter in that scene, i've changed them to simple diffuse, and I think they look better.

Matching 3D renders to photographs isn't exactly my specialty... This is my first attempt in over a year actually - I choose this photo I took because it was nice and overcast and had a simple angle :)

Don't we all wish we had one of these?
I do realize that is a tad large for a Velociraptor, but my above comment still applies ^^;

The HDR seems weak - there are no highlights on the raptor, and the shadow is barely visible. Other than that, it's nicely integrated. :)

Ah, I didn't use an HDR for this - just a Sun Light... The shadows were added in later myself because I couldn't get the shadow catching to work even though there was a plane object beneath him D=

I've never tried compositing 3D into photos with Indigo before - I've only ever done it in native Cinema 4D ^^;

Tried and failed for hours last night to get some pretty dispersion effects, with varying levels of success.

Also tried some volumetric caustics based on what I had been reading in the forums, but I couldn't even get so much as a light to show up, let alone the crazy bouncing shafts of light and other pretty effects *shrugs* (I have scene scale set to 0.01 and am modeling things at the default scale in C4D)

First picture is something I did with Indigo RT over a year ago, and the second and third were my attempts last night. I have yet to get anything remotely close to the first image =/

http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... f=3&t=1708 Is what I was using as a base for my prsim material last night - the first was a all-settings-default specular material.

I suppose if I let the top-down one render longer it might have gotten better, but the dispersion on the floor seems very weak...

Have you tried using BiDir MLT?

That's what I was using for the top two images, I can't remember what I was using for the third one since it was so old.

Thanks! I made an update with volume light. I composited the two images because the glass disapears with the fog material
