Awesome renders here lately...

@godzilla: EPIC describes it best. Looks so... strong. Best of Indigo!
@ENSLAVER: keep 'em coming! You really make this thread worth visiting.
@StompinTom: Great project. It looks real sharp, did you scale it down? Which supersampling did you use? Great use of color.

No, I'm just teaching image editing to my cat.

I thought that the outstanding point would be the medium into that poly cube... There's no hidden feature in there, just shaders for absorbtion and scattering :)

Looks interesting. Reminds of that kind of foam you find swimming on top of the dirty water in the sewers or sometimes at an ugly beach...

Could you work it out a little more and make it look like froth so we could finally have beer in indigo?

One could approximate foam, with the limitation that ior can not be programmed as a shader (foam relies heavily on an ior changing in space).

Still, you can call it a fake. Would work better for eggs in snow :)

Here is a small test done with Indigo RT 3.0.10 on Mac OS X, via blender 2.58 & blendigo :
2 hours straight out of Indigo RT (960x540 original size, MBP 2011, i7 2,2Ghz, 8GB RAM, Mac OS X 10.6.8 ), no post-pro (yes i know, it shows... )

Image

Let's hope for blendigo to come up with a solution for animations from blender as that render engine seems to be fantastic ! :D

He he, that's a nickname i was given back in 2001 (10 years ago !!) while i was in Paris working in a post-production company.
And you're right i was coming from Annecy (french Alps...) back then. :)

Oh, and thanks for the kind words, you're right about the environnment, though this render was more aimed to be a test actually, which should'nt be an excuse for such lame exterior !

It took me some time to get a good eraser material, also to understand all the values from sss settings. The current version could be tweaked a bit more but its good so far too. It was rendered up to 6k S/px. Its a rough and transparent material with medium, absorption and uniform scattering.
