Stur
Hey Stur. It's funny you should say that, because that's exactly what I thought when I first saw the chair. Yes! It's an actual chair. And apparently you can sit on it without falling. Here's my reference picture.

Hi Camox, the floor is true geometry or bump mapped ?

Very nice one !

camox: If the floor'd be slightly Displaced and you'd add slight imperfections on the vase, it could be a very neat photo :)

BbB: very interesting chair :D

CTZn: nice test, but you didn't test all the modes...

You tested:
MTL
BiDir PT
and Hyb
Additionally, you can test:
PT
BiDir MTL and
BiDir Hyb...

Interestingly, the Hyb without BiDir looks the cleanest.. (except where there are caustics... - they look blurry)

It would be interesting, if Hybrid got better, now... So, you at least should try BiDir Hyb and BiDir PT, I'd say (that's not a request, though)

@CTZn
The floor is a big texture with a bumpmap, very simple.

@Kram
I was more concerned about the camera settings. But anyway, thank you for your suggestion. :D

O.o You wont gonna Displace it now, will you?
I actually meant, if Indigo'd support MPD... (or even better VDM O.o) But if you really can get that floor being "real"-bumpy, then O.o.°.*_0

Escape from kitchen

Post by aleksandera » Fri Dec 14, 2007 9:31 am

That's a test render of my curent project. Have to model a lot's of things
yet to follow the concept. Gess i'm just to lazy. It will probably be my first
finished scene when it's done. Must say, Indigo inspiers.

Hope you like it so far.

Sorry for my B. A.

This is extremely good. You've got a perfect render on your hands. Cutting board and wicker basket are just stunning!

Animate those Mushrooms!!! :D

You should definitely fold the leaf slightly:
The middle part (the main-leaf-vein) should be a bit lower than the outer part.
and the leaf should also curve a bit. ;)

The basket is very nice, yet a bit too perfect and it lacks of a floor O.o
Textures are great, maybe a touch too saturated (although they could look like that in reality, too) :)
The glasses... I dunno, they look a bit odd, but don't ask me, why. Maybe, they're too simple or too "standard" for this scene... Dunno...
I really like the salt- and peppershaker. Add Salt and Pepper :)
The toothpicks are missing, too.
Add some bread into the basked and that's about it :) (except you're gonna expand the setting to an entire kitchen...)

Great works again in this thread, very realistic aleksandera.
Same to you Camox, and I love the composition, how it is lit, the mood, everything.

 Kram, kram, kram... if you could try to perform only a small bit of your suggestions... you wouldn't suggest that much, word. Or at least give some encouragements, you should this and put that is not always what an artist expects. That was my own opinion expressed, I'm cool, cheers.

yeah right, aleksandera, dont hear at kram, he always writes something like that - i wondering when he suggests you to use sss, displacement, indirect-caustics and hand-modeled participating-media for your pic - only a matter of time ...
