The post you are referring to is already more than seven years old, and afaik the poster is not active anymore. It could have been done with any program, really... Some Indigo renders even look great with no materials assigned!

Classic B&O Beocenter 1400 for an interior scene. My friend picked up one of these with original turn table & speakers for a song... still sounds awesome. So jealous...
