Blend of diffuse (for dust/fuzz) and double sided thin works quite well:

A better render.
I hope you don't mind me modifying your scene aleksandera!

Of course not!
This is beautiful! Thank you for the igm file

Ono, with that you opened up a whole new world of doing fake (???) SSS materials, so awesome!OnoSendai wrote:Blend of diffuse (for dust/fuzz) and double sided thin works quite well:
Here is my attempt on some grapes, based on a with C4D included scene: I wonder Ono how if it would be possible to use the ID of a instance as number to do some randomness inside the material that apply different on each instance it is put on!?

Of course objectId()Zom-B wrote: I wonder Ono how if it would be possible to use the ID of a instance as number to do some randomness inside the material that apply different on each instance it is put on!?
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
If you could provide a little example code I would upload the final material to the MatDB
I thought about a random number Genarator code using the ID as seed with max and min value,
so I could define the random variation for R, G and B in the material...

I already uploaded the initial material: http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/materials/1205
Can you send me your grape testing scene?

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
The cube is made up of many planes stacked very closely on top of each other. the material is a blend of null and another material, using a posOS() -based fbm shader in ISL. Testing another one now using a diffuse transmitter in the blend, which will hopefully give a volumetric, cloudy look to it. This was the best way to create clouds in POVray, back in the day...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
here's a version using a diffuse transmitter material in the blend. interesting, but not quite what I expected.
