This is more a material test. It is based on the velvet material found elsewhere and which I had parametrized.

Some fun with the mat ID tracer. I don't know why but it's pretty!

Awesome renders Ens. I just PSed one of them, i think, first one is too saturated.

Thanks, my monitors aren't adjusted at all and I do tend to oversaturate things because of it. I should really get on to adjusting them it's just such a pain without the fancy adjusting gadgets!

The grass needed lots of work on that image and the lighting makes it look really weird. The HDRI I used is actually an image taken from under the canopy of trees, which gives the grass an artificial/overcast lighting feel when really it needed filtered sunlight as the reflections on the buddha suggest.

Great materials, enslaver!

Nothing special; quick short foliage shader test with a tree from the web:

Not bad!
By the way I plan to add a new material type that will be useful for creating more realistic leaf materials soon.

@ ENSLAVER: Both of your images are great, also this kind of glow effect in the sunset image where the ground hits the horizont. I also have to agree with dcm and his saturation carping ;) the material of the buddha comes a lot better with less saturation.

Amazing images Enslaver, love the texture on the Buddha.

Ok, so inspired by all these lovely interior shots from thes likes of Pibuz, DCM, StompinTom, Zomb-B, Mor4us (and all the others whose names I forget), I thought I'd have a go myself. I'm finding it tricky  I'm not so good at figuring where to go if there's no design brief or reason behind the image so I'm sort of stuck with no ideas of how best to progress it.

So your input please on what you would do to this scene would be gratefully received.

Some more furniture I suppose, a table, bookcase, nice rug perhaps? maybe a couple of additional lights, at the moment its all coming from the ENV map. The curtain is meant to look like its being stirred by a gentle breeze from an open door but at the moment the door and the glazed panes all look the same - the window arrangement is a placeholder at the moment, I'll put a more realistic sliding door in at some stage to make it look like its open

Thanks,
