@voytech: looks really promising, love that fresnel gradient on it!

@oscar j: those metallic freckles already look good but maybe you should take a closer look to the distribution of those on a car paint. i think these should be less visible on lower view angle(fresnel)

Trying out new glossy transparent with a SSS test.
Head model is the 'infinite head'.
Scattering coefficient is 1000, but it's still too low :)

That looks really promising, but the guy looks way to puffy, check the ears!
If you use Displacement on him, maybe the map is centered, so you'll need to set C to: -1*(b/2)
Also double check the gamma for the displacement to be 1 for RGB or 0.656565 for grayscale image.

Good point about the displacement centering. I'm not sure about your gamma values though. I think 2.2 is probably correct. hard to know for sure tho.
