Jesus H christ.. Im seeing some really amazing sketchup modelling here. One of you needs to write some tutorials (modelling couches, lamps, chairs, cars, etc.) I would practically give up my left nut if I could just model inside of sketchup and forgo the tiresome process of importing.

Hi Pixie - I think your render looks more realistic than the photo of the real thing!
Maybe a subtle bump on the saucer so the reflection is a bit wavy like the photo for a bit of added realism?

maybe a little strong for my taste
a 3D noise would really help here to leave uvm untouched.
