vl_dm, that's a very simple and very spectacular render.

This is a test of a material (translucent plastic) based on the concept brought by galinette with scratchs adapted from galinnete own Scratched glass material.

A shelf modelated after one I find on the net and an ingenious light system.
Updated: Books on shelf now have textures applied

Awesome stuff man, that light system is wicked!
And your CD cases look like images of CD cases with a ball and a cone shopped into it... you pretty much nailed it, pixie!

@Polinalkrimizei
Thanks! I got the CD from flyingarchitecture.com which has lots of good quality objects, tweaked it a bit so it could be more flexible and did the labels for the cases. I'm doing them in just one texture so that I don't get tons of materials with the same proprieties. Tested the acrilic material for the CD cover, with scratches only for close ups.
@Zom-B
I know I cousin whose girlfriend knows a guy who has a friend who has an uncle that knows an extra from the film who happens to know a guy from inside who leaked this release.
BTW, sad Bieber is sad because no one saw how silly he is

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
After hearing of some tricks to speed up rendering elsewhere, I tried to use them here, so basically every wall which isn't seen behaves as a light. The speed aren't that much against a light as window (4 lights against 1), but thanks to the multiple light layer system the control is overwhelming.

You have used Bidirectional alone I believe. This scene would make a good use of Bidirectional with MLT, Glass Acceleration on top.tarikb wrote:Sketchup 8, indigo renderer 3

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Looks like bidir MLT to me, and dispersive glass in the windows. This causes a lot of colour noise; probably it's due to using one of the highly accurate glass materials from the material databaseCTZn wrote:You have used Bidirectional alone I believe. It's a very nice shot though tarikb!
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Odds are in you favour by default, but I thought that what may be taken for a MLT signature was in fact exactly the effect of dispersion by bidirectional path tracing.
Suspense.
