Matsta's Technical Modelling Thread!

Post by matsta » Sun Oct 21, 2007 12:15 pm

Hey guys

ok as you all probably know i've taken a strong interest in technical models. starting with my electronic actuator and, with the suggestion from Arneoog to start modeling items from the Festo catologue http://www.festo.com/StartPage/Default.aspx , i now have a near infinite repository of amazing source material.

as i am still relatively new to MoI i thought i would start off simply with a few basic items out of the catologue. This thread will serve as the WIP dumping grounds for my (many) up and coming modeling endeavors.

BbB has taken an interest in texturing some of my models and, although i hope to learn more about this soon and hopefully start doing it properly myself, i hope that he, and anyone else who would like to give it a go, will continue to help with texturing. these models will basically become a testing ground for anyone who would like texturing challenge.

I hope that you guys enjoy the work :)

hey guys

ok so made a few changes to the Drive, they were rather obvious, edited the length of the middle section and also added a gap toward the back between the middle and end section to get the deviding line to be visible. and of course left it to render over night ;)

hey mark

not sure if hes going to texture these ;) its completely up to him if he wants to or not :D i enjoy them in this form quite a bit and i dont necessarily think that every item has to be textured, but it would be nice ;) hehe

Instead of relying on BbB, you should force yourself to try to texture these :)

I agree whole-heartedly. You can only learn from the experience. :D
The hardest part of BEING yourself is FINDING yourself in the first place...

i do hope to get there soon but atm im kinda busy. i set the models a higher priority than the texturing. perhaps once finals are over ill give it more attention.

Would you mind sharing the studio lighting scene?

Good job Matsta. Why don't you try one of these really intricate classic espresso machines?
