By the way, how time-consuming is it to create such a landscape? The thing is that my boss unfortunately heard I was working a little bit with Indigo, and, despite my claims of being the most basic beginner out there, has tasked me to create a render for some islands for sale in the Maldives for the company... I can struggle my way through it with tutorials and youtube guides, but I'd like to ask him for a rough estimate of the time I'll need.
Of course, it'll be much less detailed than your work, but I'll spend the same amount of time as you did (if not more) because of the time I'll spend watching tutorials and blundering my way towards something decent.

Hello Jastreb. As you mention, what really consumes time, is getting rid of ...
It seems a very cool challenge. If you are able to acquire a good displacement map that contains the ocean bed you have it. You will need a very clear albedo for the bed and use Bidirectional MLT.
I would advise you not to use the atmosphere for this and reduce the scene as much as possible. This way you will get caustic (it depends on the treatment you give to the ocean, try to browse Houdini, it is based on the math we know about the waves. You can export the mesh in the learning version ...)
For the ocean, think of an opaque container as a large pool.
Good luck!

If you need something in the process just tell it.

36+ K displacement map. Gebco 2019 Dataset. The coast limit is a little odd, but beautiful. :)

try Topaz A.I. Gigapixel they can increase the image of the terrain to x2 x4 without significant loss of quality

Thanks for your advice, it's great! I'll try and see if I can come up with something, and hey, if it looks good, I'll post it on the forum (if the company allows it, that is)

Thanks Zalevskiy, I will try it.

Jastreb, post it here if you are allowed. I´m waiting for some more users, is not a personal thread...

N042E007. 108 X 108 km.

V 4.2.24. A perfect sphere with the tabulated spectrum as sun works well...
Want to back again over minor, instanced patches.

Thank you man!, are you not working 3D actually? I missed you lately...

A simple load test. 35 millions of instances.
Now, just imagine a correct slope distribution...

I´m trying this equation with no success. Is the one we used to mix materials by slope. The original is with normalWS() function.

Code: Select all

def evalCreate(int index, vec3 normal) bool :
if (dot(normal, vec3(0.0, 0.0, 1.0))> 0.72, true, false)
Could you please Ono guide me into ISL for landscaping?. In a months, whith a couple of tests more, I´m ready to share all the workflow with the forum. I will began to free scenes for all you! ( 8 years of hard work, getting ride of).

Please Ono, consider this request (I hope that this is a ten minutes of attention for you).

Hi Yonosoy,
The second parameter to evalCreate is position, not normal.
Currently it's not possible to read the normal in evalCreate, I think, but it should be, I'll add it.

Thanks Ono.
Five days trying...

Remeber that is necessary too to read the distance from the camera.
Thanks again.

Until this is acomplished, I will take a rest.
Bye!

A clarification.

Atmosphere works perfect with perfect spheres, but is a no go with meshes!
If you use a GeoSun, meshes go right!

Is strange, but...

Really sorry for my declarations about that, just used to do it in this way because 3.8 behaviour with perfect spheres.
Just closer now ...

Thank you!

Two easy ones, just exploring...
This system is very quick.
No ISL for the cloud material.
Not finished. 2h the first, and 40 min the second.

The second has the desert monument 02 from the guru rocks addon for blender.
