Landscapes
Re: Landscapes
Thank you a lot.
In love too with this new tools.
This is the best shading work I can do at the moment.
Now is waiting for some life ...
But till July I do not serious tests, maybe shading exercises like this one.
In summer I expect more RAM.
Will see...

Henyey-Greenstein phase for clouds (in atmosphere).
3 h of render.

Re: Landscapes
Nice! Maybe try a wider angle lens so we get some more clouds and the horizon?
Re: Landscapes
Many thanks Oscar.
An exercise remembering the firsts approaches with the code of CTZn.
Is the a_natural_situation_00.pigs worked via xml.
Mixed with a sand layer.
Clouds with 16 octaves of noise.
11:40 h of render for 9600 samples/pixel.
The silver´s spheres has 30 and 20 m. of radius.

Re: Landscapes
Probably I let process this one to a desirable point other day.
Bidirectional path tracing.
12 h for 3650 samples per pixel.

Re: Landscapes
Wow, super-cool!
Can you send me the PIGS?
I'll see if there are any optimisations that can be done on it

Re: Landscapes
Nice I would maybe brighten up the bottom left corner a bit?
Re: Landscapes
41:30 h of render for 11700 samples per pixel.
Promoting the linear 32bit EXR tonemapped in after effects (the black halo around the brights is no there and the LUT is not so aggresive than in PS).
Shader at scale but with very few colors, for more over.
Thanks Ono, I will send you the scene in a days.
So many thanks Oscar, your words calm me dowm usually. Edit.....
a better promotion of the picture, this corner is very dark; nothing to do (very few atmosphere in between).

Re: Landscapes
Over this Earth simulation, I decided to go with a planetary cloud layer of 1 km thick.
Bidirectional, Henyey-Greenstein phase, 4K Raw.
9:45 h for 780 samples per pixel.
This is an advance, I will let it rendering longer.
Maybe I down size the final image to HD panavision.
Is a startpoint.

Re: Landscapes
Amazing!
Last image looks perfect as a thumbnail, but a bit noisy at full res. I can render it for you if you want, just email it or pm it through

Re: Landscapes
Now this is mie. A mistake with the last.
Bidirectional, metropolis. SuperSample 8. Chroma noise filtered. 37 h for 10K samples per pixel.
Thanks for the offer Ono, I will take into consideration for further experiments.

Re: Landscapes
Wow! Maybe a little over exposed though? I think I liked the tone mapping of the previous image a little more.
Re: Landscapes
Thank you Oscar.
I thought that is the same promotion, the change in the colors becomes from mie_cumulus and the use of metropolis... The overexposition is because mie (more light).
Starting C serie.

Re: Landscapes
Is the last render some satellite data? Or just generated terrain?
