Hi all,
This is my latest project i am workin on. I have problem with sun and glass panels - it seems that light can't get through of these windows and everything inside looks like in a cloudy day. Especially on exterior rendering. When I put camera inside its a liittle bit better. When it is only one layer of glass you can see sun light and shadows, but notice that narrow corridor on the right is still "cloudy".
Any ideas?? How to fix this? I'm using BiDir MLT.
Latest project. Glass issue ??
Re: Latest project. Glass issue ??
Try turning on glass acceleration!
Re: Latest project. Glass issue ??
That's strange.
You should check that all your glass panes are closed volumes with real thickness (instead of a single sheet of polygons), with the normal oriented outwards, and that you assigned the same glass material to the whole pane.
Did you use portals? It could be a wrong use of portals. In that scene I would not use them.
Also, you should switch on "architectural glass acceleration". This is the typical scene where its benefits are very significant.
Edit : I'm sure I have seen this by the past, but I can't figure what this was... Which version of Indigo are you using?

Ok, here is the thing, at work we have some version of indigo 2.X, but for sure we use maxigo 2.4. And there is no glass acceleration. I downloaded the latest version to check results with glass acceleration but its weird too, lights on standard settings (light layers set on 1.00) inside the building are waaaay too overbrighted, i have to down the sun layer to 0,03! But then environment is too dark. I download maxigo 2.6 tomorrow and post how it works.
edit: No i dont use portals. Glass thickness is around 3 cm.

Ouch, that's strange. I work with large glass buildings, and don't face this issue

3cm thick glass? Are you sure that is correct?
Don't know the specifics of your project, but standard should be two 6mm glass panes, with at least a 16mm gap between the two.

@tar_gniK
It depends on technology, but for indigo isnt better that have one fat piece of glass instead of two thin??
Anyway maxigo 2.6 fix the problem, im testing it and for now it looks ok.
