Oscar's rendering thread
Re: Oscar's rendering thread
The general mood is really wonderful!
..maybe the car seems to be too still, if compared to the motion blur of the surroundings..

I think you're right about that. Also I get the feeling that the right side of the car is too illuminated, considering it's turned away from the sun. I'll try to do a remix when I get home.

Great as alwaysOscar J wrote:Please tell me what you think of this one.
Only thing that strikes me is the sharp shadow on the grass. Since the grass is not Flat, the shadow shouldbe some how distorted there.... don't ask how ^^
Simply adjust the sun, so that the shadow does hit the street only!
The street ground material for the shadow pass also NEEDS some bump or normal mapping, so the Shadow penumbra gets distorted a little and is not so perfectly sharp anymore.

Thanks guys for your crits!
Final version - with changes including a suggestion of a driver, and less sharp shadows. Hope you like it!

The Photoshop lens flare might be a little too sharp/overt, but overall it looks really great! Straight out of a magazine, just needs some white text and the AM logo in the bottom

I'm so happy to hear you say that, because that's what I was going for!lycium wrote: Straight out of a magazine, just needs some white text and the AM logo in the bottom
Flare might be a subject of personal preference, but I definitely see your point. Like it better now?

Been working all day with light placement on this one - wheels look odd, and theres no ground or window reflections yet, but I hope you can see some potential.
Re: Oscar's rendering thread
Looks promising indeed
Re: Oscar's rendering thread
I particularly like the smiley face in the window!

Thanks. Here's an update. Not loving the side window reflection ATM, will work on that.
Re: Oscar's rendering thread
Very nice only background looks like 8bit ( see gradient steps ) or this is light steps ? you save to 8 or 16 or 32 bit?

Re: Oscar's rendering thread
Very true. I saved it as a png, which I suspect is 8-bit. I'll try to convert it to 16-but in PS and fix the stepping. Thanks!
