I'm making this for a game I play (BZFlag)

good work so far! :)
but i would change the focus-point so that aleast one tank is in focus (as for now the edge of the board is in focus)

Yes, and a bit of a bevel on the same board's edges, much thinner than the one in the corner ;)

The bevel is actually the same, it just looks weird. (for some reason)

nice, I know, it's too late. You're already done. But it would be nice to see different meshes for different figures. Or is it draughts/checkers? Then, it would be great fun to see one of the tanks on both sides have a tower from the other team...
