One giant update later (5-6 hours of modeling). Changed it to a darker look. Hopefully, you wont have any trouble making out all the changes I made. :)

Well I see what you didn't change:

Im still working on the texture. That's the tricky part. I felt that the ship wasn't as detailed enough and could use something more. I wasn't happy with the flat look of the sides. Still, I added the bridge. Check the first render. It's a little dark so it may be hard to see (sorry if it is.) I sort of got side tracked with improving the model. This was mostly to show the improvements i made in that department.

Wouldn't standard projectiles give problems in zero gravity? May have to get to work on some lasers. I still say you should start by simply doing something like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIxBuVks8yA

Really. Spend a single day and just finish this simple project. Your "Ark" is becoming a bit of a joke in my opinion. Countless months with no REAL progress. Sorry but that is my honest truth, I'm not sure if others agree.

To Matsta & Stromberg - while I understand where your coming from - NeoO is just posting about his own work that is produced with Indigo and he is not doing anything else that goes against any of the posting rules here.
It's also in a thread called 'Neoo's Work In Progress thread' so that should give you a clue as to what your likely to find in there

So may I suggest that you just either ignore anything thats posted in that thread or put Neoo on your ignore list or I may have to get the moderator hammer out of the cellar

To NeoO - as long as your posts involve the use of Indigo and they don't break any forum rules just carry on posting your stuff as normal.

Hehe - yeah I know but we are all at different levels of skill here and we all learn at different rates.

Hell I'm in awe of most of the work that gets posted here, especially from people like you, and often feel my stuff isn't worthy - I mean who needs more lighbulb images?

Imagine if there were people constantly analysing you in this way when you made posts to a forum...

It's not about light bulbs Doug, but fine images and you do this well.

@neo: Personally I regret that the previous renders were too dark, even now that I set the display luminosity abnormally high I can guess details but not read them well. We were warned though :)

The proportion between the body of the turret and the cannon is intriguing, you never know with modern objects, they are often big boxes packing a lot of void. Exposing ammo and internal weaponry parts should be vastely unsafe I think, between ionised rays and protoplanetary clouds... that turret won't turn around without jamming.

But hey the ship is so huge it's all (visually) relative :)

Bad joke on my side, but I really do wish Neo0 the best, I think if he really wanted to he could get real good.
All it takes is time and practice like everything else.

Actually Neo this is just a suggestion but I think a project like this is better served using one of the many blog applications out there.

For instance you could use excellent free blogs such as Wordpress, http://wordpress.com/ or Blogger https://www.google.com/accounts/Service ... =start#s01 and could then post on a daily or weekly on basis how your project is coming along and then post updates to this thread when you reach major milestones?.

If you look at a lot of the other contributors here that is what they do - in fact that is what I do as I only post here images that I think may be of interest to others because of a technique or treatment I've used - for example my recent modelling a lightbulb post pointed people to my blog - I didn't post any images here.

This is just an idea and NOT an attempt to have you post less. The choice, as always, is yours
