Idea for new feature
Idea for new feature
Maxwell has a neat feature where you can adjust the brightness of each light during the render.. This eliminates a key problem of cg art, where you have to keep re rendering because of trial and error with lighting intensities.
It also let's you adjust materials in real time..
Just something for thought.

Layers means anything to you? I though it so...neo0. wrote:Maxwell has a neat feature where you can adjust the brightness of each light during the render.. This eliminates a key problem of cg art, where you have to keep re rendering because of trial and error with lighting intensities.

Well, no I've never used them before, but at a glance, they look a bit more complex than multilight. Maybe have more documentation for light layers..
It would also be nice to see more options for adjust camera diffraction/glare..
I can say that I have used maxwell's layered materials and I can say that they are easier than Indigo's blend mats as they are more visual.

yea, documentation...
Re: Idea for new feature
Light layers in indigo is just as easy as multilight.
And you do even have more control in indigo over which one of the lights you can adjust.
One thing thing that got me wondering is "It also let's you adjust materials in real time.."
Where the hell do you take that from?
I have used maxwell plenty of times and there is no such thing, but fryrender has something called swap that can do that, altough it's a standalone program, and it's very limmited to what you can adjust.

Yeah, that's what he means. MW doesn't have such a feature.Stromberg wrote:One thing thing that got me wondering is "It also let's you adjust materials in real time.."

Probably depends on what exporter you're using. I use SkIndigo, and material setup is a breeze. Intuitive, fast - efficient, quoi. As far as ease of use is concerned, SkIndigo's got Maxwell beat.neo0. wrote:I can say that I have used maxwell's layered materials and I can say that they are easier than Indigo's blend mats as they are more visual.
Totally OT, and probably a dumb question to you rendering gods: can the other exporter load materials with SkIndigo?
If they do ... whoa!

Cindigo can - since way back!Stinkie wrote:Totally OT, and probably a dumb question to you rendering gods: can the other exporter load materials with SkIndigo?

Fan - bloody -tastic.
I have been on the lookout for a an app to use as a 'bridge' between Modo and Indigo (and Mawell, too). Looks like that'll be C4D.
Modo + mats made with SkIndigo + CIndigo + Indigo ... Oh yeah.
