I also thought that this migh interfere with my preview stuff in cindigo. have you just tried it? maybe when launched with parameters it will just start rendering? going to try it now.

1.1.18, I'm not worthy enough to get that kind of builds :lol:

it works fine with the indigo_console.exe (which i use) but with the indigo.exe i get an empty error message.

@Fused
What that means? We can't auto-launch the rendering with UI version anymore?

Indigo GUI no longer works well under wine, which i would not have expected written in qt :(

No text shows up on anything, and if you try to resize the window, it gets locked in resizing mode and forces it to resize whenver you move your mouse in!

Edit: Also, all us poor students! noooo!
Yes i know, my spelling sucks

@neo0. A indigo full lifetime licence will do what you want. We probably need to clarify the wording on the licencing pages.

@eman. We will have student Indigo 2.x licences available once we have sold out of the lifetime licences.

@fused I'll let him know.

:)

When the GUI version is given a indigo scene path as a command line argument, it should open the scene and start rendering immediately.

yes, youre right. and it does work when running indigo from commandline.
but its not working with this batch:

Code: Select all

@echo off
cd /d "H:\Indigo\indigo_x64_v2.0.2"
start /belownormal indigo.exe "I:\CINEMA 4D R10\plugins\cindigo_dev\quickrender\quickrender.igs"
when i use indigo_console.exe the batch works fine.

edit: it works for the indigo.exe too when i change it to:

Code: Select all

@echo off
start /belownormal H:\Indigo\indigo_x64_v2.0.2\indigo.exe "I:\CINEMA 4D R10\plugins\cindigo_dev\quickrender\quickrender.igs"
but now its not working anymore if theres a space in the path to the indigo.exe...

Its a shame to sell Indigo without answering this brutally important question first... :|

carbon wrote:ok, now it works..

but i have question, how about exporter developers? are you going to hire current developers? because Indigo, by my opinion, is unusable in real production without exporter of same great quality as rendering engine is. the new shiny gui is pleasant, but big button 'render' is nothing compared to, for example Blendigo's material editor and/or even more important geometry - to - indigo mesh conversion..

c.

edit: don't take me bad, i am thinking seriously about purchasing indigo license, but the price you estimated is a bit higher than i was expecting (almost 2/3 of maxwell's price), so this question promptly came to my mind..
Hi Carbon,
We will continue to work with the current developers, as they are a key part of our future plans for Indigo. We are also planning to move the source code into a central repository, and spend some time improving and optimising the exporters. So I expect the exporters to improve in quality.
