I'm confused, cant find how to run violet on linux, and which is the latest release ...
The win32 binary from download section doesn't work on wine, the link to the binary for wine is broken .
It would be cool to have linux binaries since indigo 1.09 for linux is out.
Actually I have to copy the .igi out of the ext3 drive, stop the render, reboot ...
mpffffff !
Violet on linux ???
Try the Java Port for Linux: http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/fo ... php?t=3628
It isn't a final version but should work
(poorly it doesn't on my Vista 64bit system )

yeah, I ran out of steam with the jViolet port.
All the code is there but it kinda needs a Java expert to go through it and optimise for multi-threading and compatibility with the most common JREs.
It also needs an image processing guru to re-implement some of the bloom stuff too. (although that's not critical since it's now built into indigo anyway).

Ok, so now the latest release is built java, working, but not finished.
Is it the same as 0.3 win32, or are there any inprovements, except the bloom stuff ?
Thx, I'll try that ...
Yes mutithread would be cool, as java 64 bit compatibilty, for working with print (huge) renders.
igi files can be really HUGE, easily more than 1 gig a frame

jViolet was translated from violet win32 0.3, but doesn't have all the features implemented - notably bloom and the histogram.
It's also probably not as stable since a fair amount of the code was changed in translation to make it more Java, and the multi-threading implementation is completely different (and incomplete).
