It would be nice to add a "light" group in the material database to add some nice light sources

Galinette actually suggest to add this new material group several days ago and nothing has been done.
Hola?

Re: Add "light" material group in the database
Dear all,
I've started uploading light materials. Many others to come over the next weeks!
Attached is the modified material preview scene for lights. Most changes are : I switched off the external lights, and I changed the white balance to D65 (most standard for lights, as it allows to compare the artificial light to daylight). It would be much better to keep the same white balance for all light uploads, otherwise it's impossible to compare anything (maybe you could add this to the sticky posts?)

Hi Galinette, maybe it's a stupid question, but can a black light be tabulated? If that so, do you thing near white colour obj would render fluo?
Thank you for the uploads anyway.

Re: Add "light" material group in the database
Not possible unfortunately...
First reason : black light is at about 370-380nm. This is at the very limit of visible spectrum, and Indigo cuts at 400nm.
Second reason : it's very difficult to render the look of blacklight as it involves complex phenomenons in the eye. Especially, the halos you see around the light sources. And without this, it will look like dull purple light.
Third reason : fluorescence is a non-linear effect. It implies that one wavelength is converted to another, which is in contradiction with the assumptions made by nearly (all?) renderers, except for very specific scientifical applications which are not really renderers. Not impossible, but I doubt this will be implemented ever in a mainstream renderer.
However, fluorescent objects behave like light sources, you may fake it by making them emit light
