ISL gradient from edge

Hello!
Please tell me how can I create a gradient from the edge of the object using ISL? This would be very useful for creating a multitude of effects that significantly increase the photorealism of images! Mixing blend material with such ISL lighter and darker instances of texture is a very fast and beautiful result. To do mixing cards manually in Photoshop is a very long time.
An example of the use of such an ISL was made in Photoshop. It looks scary, but this is an example.
It would be wonderful if it worked on the GPU.
