Just to keep you posted: finished the chapter on params, the next document update might see the introduction completed.

Beyond, using ISL in particular material parameters will be covered in (an)other document(s), the tone will be different and more appropriate for intermediate users.

I must clarify the next steps being, suggestions and requests are welcome.

Update 3.

Your enthousiasm is also much appreciated !

Well it's not finished yet, but nearly. I had a much busier time than expected.

The last steps of the introduction will be trivial: changing from 1D noise to 2D noise; moving the code and adapting it for bump mapping, in the fashion of an overview and as an introduction to the next work: different usages of the noise functions in several material parameters (exponent and so on).

Stretched noises may also be part of that next document.

I realized that it was important to reshape more appropriately the now called Foreword, wich first part settles the prerequesties:
The purpose of this booklet is to lead the novice, supposedly impressed by the notion of coding, into a guided first contact with the Indigo Shading Language (ISL).

As such, the reader is expected to have been through UV texturing and is now willing to use a different method to define materials in Indigo.
.

That needed a clarification from me. And I'm still french so you never know ;D

At this point I gave up on you guys, sorry about that.

It's plain rude but I still need to let Indigo-related concerns go for a longer time :)
