My material testing scene

Hello world

I decied to share my test scene for material creation inside of indigo. Scene was made by Piotr Dacewicz and me. Scene is calibrated to give most neutral result.
Model is placed inside of the box which have dimensions 1x1x1m . Inside are 2 emitters placed in 2 layers, so you guys can simply switch between them to check material in some more ways.
Every side of the box is mapped with texture with neutral color. Textures works like indicators (see image below).
Of course, scene is not perfect so please, if u find some bugs, feel free to report.

using agfapan100cd with EV 7,5 and ISO 200 you can get similiar result like with linear output but agfapan produce lil bit more contrast and less highlights. Really nice output

You can zoom to object easily to check, if your material is good. With realtime editing, this scene is powerful tool for material creation.

This scene will be probably implemented inside of new IndigoMax as basic mat. preview scene.

PS : for rendering of dielectric materials (glass, water etc.) i recommend to use supersamples factor 3/4 to avoid fireflies or use MLT. For faster rendering, use smaller resolution.

I wish you a lot of fun with that. Some images (scene to download at bottom):

Thank you very much, guys...
this is very helpful! Great idea with the light layers to test bump and specular.
And wonderful neutral light!

can you explain, which problem do u have ? you can still open this scene inside of indigo, create material and save and import to skindigo

One note :

using agfapan100cd with EV 7,5 and ISO 200 you can get similiar result like with linear output but agfapan produce lil bit more contrast and less highlights. Really nice output. Im also using agfapan100cd in every scene as default camera

I just wanted to integrate your scene inside our mat preview of skindigo. Seems like it's a quite hard task!
But don't worry, I'll just wait for some hints by Snorky 8)

im posting 2 new testscenes. Both are from mrmaterials.com. I just tweaked them for usage inside of indigo. There are 2 zip files with PIGS inside.
One is for dielectric (water, glass), sss and all transparent materials. Why ? Scene is without mapping coordinates.
Second files is for mapped materials, scene contains UVW coordinates. Files and examples below.
HDRi used as light source is from hdrlabs.com
