HDRI as material ?

Post by solarray » Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:00 am

Isn't it possible to give for example an simple mesh plane an hdri map as emitter ?

yes, it is possible :)
Simply load the map as a emitter texture.

Beware of the idea to load a HDRI latlong pano into a own sphere to have better control!
Indigo does some precalculation of HDRI's used as EnvMap to speed up rendering quite a lot.
with a HDRI on a own sphere you skip this calculation part...

Isn't it implemented in indigo 2.6.1 yet? In indigo blender exporter I can't find any texture channel in 'light emission' material settings. Than I tried to create an external material with indigo material editor and enabled in the emission section a hdri (.exr) texture, and linked this external material to the plane but indigo says 'Scene must contain at least one light source' !

Thanks for the hint but that was not my purpose.

cheers

Textured emitter Materials are quite long time integrated in Indigo!

I'm no blender user, so I can't help you there, maybe a quick look in the belndigo manual can help, or give it a try in the blendigo subforum.
(or even better some blenderhead gives a quit reply here!)
