Help me render my scene
Help me render my scene
I have a PC, Intel Pentium III, only 128 MB SDRAM
Rendering a simple scene needs 24 hours or more
Can somebody help me?

yes ahmadun: post your scene wherever you prefer (i find www.box.net useful and easy-to-use ). And, yes: specify your modeling application!!

even an biased renderer man.....zsouthboy wrote:Ouch, that's a box that'll be painful to use any unbiased renderer on.
If you would post the scene, I'm sure one of us would be happy to render it on an idle box for you.
btw i have make some interesting 3d on biased 3d app in the past with an machine like this...
3ds max 2 default scanline.....aahhh times to remember ....
1)Core i7 965XE stock CLOCK ,PSU:CHIEFTEC 850W
M/B ASUS P6T DELUXE,WATERCOOLING ZALMAN RESERATOR 2
MEMORY:6GB CORRSAIR @1600,Ati HD 4870x2,
MONITOR:LG 1950SQ,CASE:THERMALTAKE SOPRANO

Hi ahmadun,
I'm rendering your scene now - but WOW is it slow for such a simple scene. (Which isn't helping your poor processor try to deal with it)
A quick glance shows two SSS materials, not just SSS, but RGB SSS, which is even slower!
Change your scattering to uniform (this looks like it was exported from Blender, correct?)
I can't visualize where your light in this scene is, either - and switching to PT (which would quickly show any direct light) shows barely anything! So your entire scene is being lit with indirect light (as I only see anything when turning MLT on), THEN going through SSS mediums, before getting to the camera.
Can you show me a wireframe of your scene (again, I'm postulating that you're using Blender) or perhaps the .blend itself?

- Here's the render at about 2000 samples per pixel

Hahaha ok. Well I'm stopping too, cuz well its inefficient, and I cant play Age of Conan now (I didnt mind doing it while i was at work cuz ...my computer would've just been idle anyway).zsouthboy wrote:Haha, you win - I stopped rendering it when I posted, since it's so inefficient.

Actually the RANCH igi merging Software had some bug,
they weighted incorrectly when merging IGIs!
Should be fixed now...
Also Ono told that SSS is buggy,as he told RGB SSS sampling has severe issues,
the more the scattering coefficients vary based on wavelength,
the worse the noise will be...
my SSS RANCH test were unsatisfying too...
