How to create an object without shadow while cast light

Post by anonym0214 » Fri Jul 04, 2014 2:20 pm

Hi, Pros,
I am a new user of Indigo.
I have a question:
I want to use a illuminating box to imitate directional light. However, when I render the scene, the box is rendered along with its shadow.
Can I make the box and its shadow missing in the rendered result while the lighting from it remains?

Please help me with it.

Thank you.

Hey 0214,

Please explain (with an image) what you want to achieve here.

Are you referring to use a 360° image for lighting, or using a "studio setup" (Box) to light some object...

If it is just an object within the scene, use 'Pick Object' then check the 'Invisible to Camera' box in the 'Property Editor'

Hi, Zom-B,
Please check out the attached image. The yellow quad is used for lighting, however, you may see its shadow casting to the floor. How can I remove the shadow while keep the quad emitting light?

Thank you so much.

p.s. I am using the Indigo RT instead of Indigo Renderer. So please tell me to use the feature that I have. Thank you so much. ^_^
