SkIndigo 1.0.4

Post by Whaat » Tue Dec 18, 2007 6:36 am

Use this version with Indigo 1.0.4.

You must download the new previews folder (SUpreviews) or change the name of your existing previews folder to 'SUpreviews' for this new version to work. As always, make sure this folder is in your Indigo directory (version 1.0.4)

INSTALLATION
1. Copy SkIndigo.rb into your SketchUp/Plugins directory
2. Copy the SkIndigo folder into your SketchUp/Plugins directory
3. Copy the SUpreviews folder into your Indigo directory
4. Remove any previous versions of SkIndigo from your SketchUp/Plugins directory

#Version 1.0.4

#Added: support for IES profiles
#Changed: changed previews folder name to SUpreviews to avoid conflicts with other exporters' preview scenes
#Added: aperture diffraction support
#Changed: made IGM import backwards compatible with older versions of Indigo (not fully tested)
#Added: Water preset (credit CoolColJ)

Aperture diffraction is currently enabled by default in order to facilitate testing. It will be disabled by default in the future.

I have re-written about 90% of the code since the last release so it is very likely that some features will be broken. I have not had the time to fully test this one. Please let me know of any bugs. Thanks!

Thanks Whaat! Just installed and found a couple issues.

When I hit "Cancel" in the Render Settings, I get a Runtime Error and it asks me if I want to debug. I said ok, and it took me to a Microsoft Editor to the Html line for the Cancel button.

Says in the Error box-

Line: 403
Error: Object Expected

Also, not really a bug I think, but when I open the Render Settings dialog box, if I don't make any changes and start hitting "Undo" it undo's what I did in the model, like hitting Ctrl-Z.

Anyways,
Looks great, hopefully I'll get some time soon to do some more renders to post.

It should be fixed now. Thanks.

It's not really a bug - more of a side-effect  . It would be a real pain to 'fix' this. If it's causing people grief, I can just delete the 'undo' button.

Hi Whaat!
Just trying v1.0.4, and i get the error message i attach.

I tried to put a simple sketchup material and to get a preview, but the message pops up starting the render (even for the preview only).

What can it be?

pibuz,

check your SUpreviews folder. Is there a 'textures' folder and does it contain the concrete block texture?

Pibuz,

Have you figured out this problem, yet? Does it only happen with material previews? Try deleting the file 'indigo1_0_4_path.txt' and try deleting and re-installing SkIndigo. I am kind of stumped about this one.

I have the same problem and I tried what you said Whaat. But if I delete 'indigo1_0_4_path.txt, then when I start Sketchup the software ask me where is the indigo.exe I choose the right directory and the 'indigo1_0_4_path.txt come back in the same place.

Pibuz/lorom,

I really need more information in order to fix this.

- does it only happen with material previews?
- does it happen with ALL preview models? (sphere, cube, etc.)
- does it ALWAYS happen every time you preview a material with a texture?
- does it ONLY happen with SkIndigo 1.0.4?

If you can find a case where it happens, please post the 'previewmats.igs' file that you will find in your 'SUpreviews' directory.

Thank you

Hi Whaat!
So:

- the problem comes out with material preview AND image render
- it comes out with all metrial previews
- it happens every single time i launch a whichever rendering
- ..but it only happens with SkIndigo 1.0.4 (luckily)

BTW, SkIndigo is however GREAT!
