Rendering issues front face vs back face

Hi -

I seem to recall earlier versions of Indigo 3 rendered the "Front Face" material, no matter which face was visible to the camera.

Later, I believe this was changed so that the visible face was the one that Indigo rendered (WYSIWYG) even if it was the "Back" face.

Now Im using Indigo 4.0.47 and Skindigo 3.8.35 and finding the that front face is back to the old method of the front face rendering.

Am I wrong & confused ? Has Skindigo always treated Sketchup Front/Back faces in this way? Or is it a version of Skindigo/Indigo that changed it? If so what's the chance of getting a quick patch to fix it?

May thanks
sam

I would try a compatible Exporter, maybe there is some incompatibility, try SkIndigo 4.0.51.1: https://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vi ... 17&t=14341
Best also to go with latest Indigo version, Indigo 4.0.53 : https://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vi ... =1&t=14372

I don't think this behaviour has changed recently.

Just to clarify then, the behaviour should be that the face pointing toward the camera is the one that Indigo renders?

(on a related note; does indigo export the back face as well? ive never thought to check)

The white face surface is correctly rendered by indigo!
