obj-file as external mesh not rendered

Post by lape » Thu Nov 24, 2016 9:35 am

Hi,

I purchased some great shrubs from turbosquid, files are obj.

I always use obj-files as external mesh in Sketchup, and this works fine. But in this case, my obj won't be rendered. I hit render and Indigo just renders as if the object isn't there. At first I thought it's because of the complex geometry, so I used meshlab to reduce the polygons, only the branches are still in the obj now, see screenshot. But nothing...

.. can anybody help me? What's wrong with this obj? Other obj work fine...

scale and position were really off when imported to Blender, at least. I re-exported it, scaled down and centered at 0,0,0. see if it works better for you...

Thank you, now it works!

So it's the position and scale.... damn. Hope I can fix it with my tools.
