This is probably the wrong forum to ask such a question.

The short answer is yes, but not so much innovation, more like refinement and fixing.

Do yourself a favor though, first download and run the CheckUp app (new) to check compatibility and requirements with your system before buying / downloading / installing SketchUp 2017. Also, it's 64-bit only now and graphics card has to be OpenGL 3.0 compliant.

Some improvements on SketchUp, and Layout got a lot more useful.

I did try some versions of SketchUP but comming from c4d it is so intuitive that its almost un useable for me.
However 2017 version has some really nice updates if are into layouts and precise modelling of very big architecture projects you will love it. Dwg export is topnotch now.

It does what it say it does, and does it well.

- Skindigo needs a signing on the 2017 version ;) It works now but still would be awesome if it weren't grayed out in the plugin library. < just sayin small things matter.

What do you mean? I always open elder SU projects with the latest versions of SketchUp! It would be crazy not to allow that!

One thing you can't do is open newer-generated sketchup projects with past versions, but that's how it works for almost every software...

Yep my mistake. You can open older projects in never ver.
Will delete that part. Sorry for the confusion PIBUZ! Thanks for letting me know.

Yes its a worthy upgrade. Much better than the 2015 to 2016 upgrade.

For me, the main ones are:
Layout is improved and is finally useful.
A few tools are better, eg offset doesn't create horrible overlaps.
Performance & reliability are improved generally.

Now they just need to fix the 3d warehouse!

I haven't had any issues with Skindigo yet, except that Indigo Crashed when I selected "render region" in the model, but then moved the camera so it wasn't looking at that region. Not sure if that's always been a bug.
Skindigo on 1x 6950x, 1x3970x, 6x3930k, 2x4930k, 3x5930k

Well that's weird - Skindigo doesn't show up in Sketchup 2017. I have un/re-installed both Sketchup 2017 and Indigo RT (latest 4.0) Beta, and Skindigo doesn't show up. It's not listed in the Extension Manager either. Any ideas folks?

be careful when you install Indigo and using SketchUp, when prompted for the Skindigo installation path replace the Sketch2015 (or whatever is showing) part with Sketchup2017, or navigate to the location. This is something I've noticed in the past but have not logged as a bug.

Also make sure you've ticked the view>toolbar>skindigo option.

Hi Juju - I've done all that, installed Skindigo in the Sketchup 2017 plugin folder, and it doesn't show up in the toolbar list...
