Using Sketchup lighting in environmental maps

Post by Alejandro_66 » Wed Nov 26, 2014 7:40 am

Hello,

I'm trying to use the shadows casted by Sketchup lighting combined with an EXR environmental map.
I've seen a tutorial on Youtube and adjustments are done during rendering with "light layers".
I have Indigo RT (no light layers...) and i was wondering if anyone can help me achieve this?

Thank you and kind regards

Alejandro

I don't have RT, but if you use the "add sun" option, this should work.

You have to adjust the weight for sun and environment lighting

Hello Lape,
Thank you for your reply. I've tried that and background always comes up black.
I've played, a lot, with the "weight" and "sun weight" like you mentioned and no luck.
Unfortunate that "ADD SUN" option is available on RT version but unable to use properly without light layers.

Kind regards,

Alejandro

Try this:
- Set the environment weight to about 100000 (depends on your exr, in most cases this works for me)
- Set the sun weight to about 0.0001 (just as an an approximate value, need to play with it)

Thank you very much Lape for taking the time to reply. It worked just fine with your settings.
Would have never thougt of putting EXR weight at such a high setting. But it works!
Again thank you.
Kind regards,
Alejandro
