change path for igi and png

Post by lape » Sun Aug 11, 2013 1:21 am

Is it possible to change the path for the igi and png files? It doesn't seem to be possible in the sketchup output settings. Its's just because I use a SSD, and saving the igi to the default render folder gives me a lot of bytes written, so I fear about the lifetime of my SSD... :(

Your SSD will outlive you. Nothing to worry about.

Sorry, but I don't think so. After only one project, I already have 5.0 TB written. Just because I use the "save igi" option. Samsung writes something about 240TB, after this you will get problems. Seems I will reach the 240 TB after about 48 projects. If I work on 12 projects a year, the SSD will get problems after 4 years. And I'm not only using Indigo. Other software also write bytes...

What do you think?

If you get a recent Indigo beta (e.g. 3.6.19) you can change the render folder used in the options dialog.
